This is a piece of cloth that was dyed with washers that had been soaked in vinegar for a while to take the coating off - they were very nice and new from my husband's collection :) I just kept rearranging them on the cloth, and the water I added floated around a bit creating it's own pattern. As with all these oeuvres, now to decide what to do with it.

Very interesting, Dianne. This is something I have meant to try for some time. Perhaps you could share some tips the next time we meet.
I think it will be a good cottage project. Start saving rust!!
